Real Madrid pulled one back through Cristiano Ronaldo in the 51st minute, but Lewandowski restored Dortmund's two-goal advantage with a clinical finish in the 69th minute.
The Pole completed his historic night with a stunning fourth goal in the 84th minute, sealing a famous victory for Borussia Dortmund and putting them in a commanding position heading into the second leg.
